Update May 5, 2012 to May 10, 2012:
Before:
Piano bar entertainer Jon Abrams will be performing April 19 through May 31 at The Red Piano, located at the Simpson Bay Resort & Marina in St. Maarten.
The 28-year-old Abrams was an elementary school teacher in Massachusetts for two years after graduating college, but also played in a Billy Joel tribute band on the side. Word got to producers of Twyla Tharpe’s Tony Award winning hit Broadway musical “Movin’ Out.” Abrams was called in to audition portraying piano man Billy Joel, and three weeks later he was hired for the role as the piano man in the touring show performing throughout the United States and Canada.
More recently, Abrams had been living in Las Vegas, where he was a regular performer at The Salute Lounge, the dueling piano bar of The Palazzo.
“My mom made me take piano when I was 6. I wanted to play the drums,” says Abrams. “Thank God she did that.”
Catch his act Mondays through Saturdays beginning at 8 p.m.
Piano bar entertainer Henry Haid will be performing a limited April 3-18 engagement at The Red Piano, located at the Simpson Bay Resort & Marina in St. Maarten.
Haid rose to prominence portraying piano man Billy Joel in Twyla Tharpes Tony Award winning hit Broadway musical “Movin’ Out.” He received rave reviews for those Broadway performances at New York City’s Richard Rodgers Theater. New York Theater proclaimed, “Pianist/lead vocalist Henry Haid’s electric voice rang out passionately and impressively.” And Patrickweb reported, “The playing and singing by Henry Haid was outstanding.” In a review of a recent performance in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Shaun A. Pennington of the St. Thomas Source wrote, “Having heard him I have to say Haid is Billy Joel, when Billy Joel was Billy Joel – in a musically electric way.”
Prior to his stint on Broadway, Haid performed at piano bars throughout the USA, Europe and the Caribbean.

We’ve already made quite a bit of progress, most particularly in the roof replacement segment of the project. Below is a short video interview with a North Carolina-based roofing expert detailing the current state of Simpson Bay Resort’s roofs and how we will be addressing the problem.
We will continue to post progress updates periodically to keep you up to speed with the ongoing status of the project.
