Simpson Bay Resort & Marina Celebrates Personnel
Simpson Bay Resort & Marina held its first ever Associate Appreciation Day celebration to honor all hotel operations, sales and marketing personnel. Along with management, we enjoyed o jovial atmosphere on the resort’s rooftop terrace with food, drink, games, dance, a raffle and the announcing of the latest three employees of the month.
Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) Claret Connor was present to speak to the crowd and recalled his earlier days working at the hotel – formerly Pelican Resort – before leaving the island for tertiary education and when he returned home on vacation. Our General Manager Marcel Javois told The Daily Herald the resort’s success would be nowhere without the gardeners, maids, etc., and that the employees were the ones to provide the flair and the smiles and could make the hotel feel like home.
The event proved a big hit and our Director of Sales and Marketing Jozef O’Niel commended the local sales and marketing team, Angele Geerman and Ruchella Yarzagaray, for organizing the event with less than a week’s notice. The most recent employees of the month announced were Leroy Neale of the Maintenance Department for March, Raymund Alexander of the Accounting Department for April, and Yohan Santana of the Maintenance Department for May. Each, as is customary, received a US $100 gift certificate for Sunny Foods and another for the same amount to use in nearby stores.
The evening ended with a number of prizes, including dinners and jewelry, being raffled, and dancing. The popular Nirvana Dancers made two appearances and The Cut Creator DJ Outkast kept the mood going.
